How a split is calculated

Add the ratio parts to get the number of total parts, divide the amount by that number to find the value of one part, then multiply one part by each ratio part. For money, each share is rounded down to whole cents and the leftover cents are handed out to the largest remainders first, so the shares always reconcile.
